About IIT JAM Exam
  • IIT JAM Exam is an entrance exam which is
    conducted for the candidates who wish to get
    admitted in IITs to pursue pursue MSc (Four
    Semesters), Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-MTech., MSc-PhD
    Dual Degree.
  • IIT JAM Exam is one of the toughest exam in
    India. It is conducted every year in the month of
    February.

IIT JAM Geology Exam
IIT JAM Exam first conducted in 2004 to give
admissions to candidates who want to pursue PG
courses. Candidates want to pursue courses
related to Geology must clear the IIT JAM Geology
exam and must have pursued Bachelors degree in
Geology (three years/ six semesters) and any two
subjects among Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
and Biological Science. Every year, the number
of candidates for JAM Geology exam is increasing.
In 2016, around 1500 students appeared for JAM
Geology and in 2017, it was around 2000.

IIT JAM Geology Exam Pattern
Exam pattern for all the subjects are same. Below
I have mentioned the exam patter for IIT JAM
exam JAM exam is divided into three
sections Section A- 30 MCQs of 50 marks Out of
a total of 30 questions, 10 questions are of one
mark each and 20 questions are of two marks each.
There is negative marking of 1/3 mark for each
question answered incorrectly out of the one-mark
question and 2/3 marks are deducted for each
incorrect question which is of two marks each.
There is no negative marking for any question
left unanswered. Section B- 10 MSQs of 20 marks
Each correct answer in this section is awarded
two marks. There is no negative marking in this
section. Section C- 20 NAT of 30 marks  Out of
the total 20 questions, first 10 questions are of
one mark each and other 10 questions are of two
marks each. There is no negative marking in this
section as well.

  • Candidates must follow the below preparation tips
    to crack Geology exam

    all those topics frequently.
  • Give more time to your weak points which helps
    you to improve them.
