The Indian job market is so blessed with
qualitative as well as quantitative workforce.
This is off course a great advantage of many
organizations inside as well as outside the
country. There are private sector jobs as well as
public sector jobs in our country, which the
confusion always exists which one is better to
opt for. When it comes to public sector or
Government jobs, Indian Railway jobs are one of
the most preferred area. There are many reasons
such as attractive salaries, flexible shifts,
medical facilities and even accommodation
facilities when it comes to few cadres in
railways depending on the areas of posting. The
wide range of job opportunities helps the job
seekers of all categories to look in to the
possibility of joining Railways. There are
openings even for candidates passed 102 course
as well. The recruitment process of Indian
Railways is taken care by Railway Recruitment
Board which is under the control of the Ministry
of Railways, Government of India. The RRB takes
care of the employee requirement analysis,
posting of job notification, screening of
applications and conducting examinations to
select the best suitable candidates required for
each post.

The Indian Railways is divided in to various

divisions. The RRB publishes vacancies in the
areas like Signal, Maintenance, Security and
Protection Forces, Management, Personnel,
Accounts etc. for various zones of the Indian
Railway and conducts examinations and test to
fill the vacancies. There are four categorization
of vacancies in Railways such as Group A, Group
B, Group C and Group D. The gazetted ranks
belongs to Group A and B and Non Gazetted
positions belongs to Group C and Group D. The
recruitment of  candidates applying for positions
in Group A is been conducted by the union Public
Service Commission with the help of examinations
such as Civil Services Examination and the
Combined Engineering Service Examination. The
Group B openings are generally filled by giving
promotions to the Group C employees. The Group C
levels are filled by the recruitment processes
conducted by the zonal RRBs. The Group D openings
are filled by the selection process conducted by
each divisional offices.

general public with the help of print media as
well as digital media. Even though the job
notifications gets published in newspapers, the
advancement of Internet and media has made it
easier for a candidate to know the job
requirements and qualifications asked by the RRB
