• SSC CGL exam includes 4 Tiers as follows
• Tier-I consists of four subjects i.e. English,
  quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, general
  awareness. 100 questions of 200 marks are asked
  to be solved in one hour.
• Tier-II comprises English, and quantitative
  aptitude as a compulsory subject while statistic
  and general knowledge for finance and economics
  are optional subjects. 2 hours allotted to each
  subject.
• Tier-III is descriptive test in Hindi or English
  language of 100 marks for one hour.
• Tier- IV is qualifying in nature. Typing speed
  and computer proficiency is checked under data
  entry skill test.

General Tips for SSC CGL 2017 Preparation

1. Be aware of Syllabus and paper pattern of the
   exam is most important to understand the paper.
2. Read the whole syllabus properly. Make sure not
   to leave any topic.
