Easter Treats
Easter is a very important time of the year for
Christians as it is a day dedicated to
celebrating Jesus Christs resurrection from the
dead. Many families celebrate Easter in their own
ways, one way being the consumption of chocolate
eggs. This is a very popular tradition today, and
you will find that a lot of schools and shops
will take full advantage of it. If you are
wondering what to do with your children for
Easter, then why not do some baking? We have
provided you a fantastic Easter treat recipe for
you to try out!

Vanilla Chick Biscuit Pops If you have younger
children, then you need the recipe to be simple
for them to do. These vanilla chick biscuit pops
are great for making with kids, so lets see
exactly how to make them.
Method 1. First, put half of the butter and all
the sugar in a bowl. Using a wooden spoon beat
together the ingredients until it turns smooth
and creamy. Then beat the egg and half of the
vanilla extract until it is completely combined
Ingredients
2. Add the flower to the mixture and mix
together until it forms into a dough ball. Wrap
it up in cling film and leave to chill in the
fridge for 20 minutes
  • 200g of unsalted butter
  • 100g golden caster sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 200g plain flour
  • 200g icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • Few drops of yellow food colouring
  • 75g of unsweetened desiccated coconut
  • 50g small chocolate chips
  • 25g of orange/white fondant icing

3. Heat your oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Next,
roll the dough out until it is about 5mm thick
and cut the biscuits out using a 6cm round
cutter. Put the biscuits on the tray and insert
the lolly sticks into the sides, a quarter of
the way through
You will also need 15-18 lolly sticks. So now
you have all the ingredients, shall we move on
to the method?

pops! These biscuit pops arent the only things
you can make at Easter, you can also try the

4. Bake for 7 minutes until the edges are
golden brown and then transfer the biscuits to a
wire rack and allow to cool down The decoration
stage 1. To make the buttercream frosting add
the butter and icing sugar and beat together
until you have a smooth mixture. Add a little
bit of milk and the rest of the vanilla extract
with a few drops of food colouring and then
leave to chill for 5 minutes

As well as baking for Easter you can also
decorate the eggs from home. Simply buy a
plain chocolate egg and some icing pens and let
your children draw a picture or their name. why
not turn this activity into a competition and
have a separate egg for the person who
decorates the best egg? Overall, there are many
fun and creative ideas you can do for Easter, so
whether you plan on going out or staying in,
have a fun-filled Easter with your family!

with a few drops of yellow food colouring and
mix until the coconut is a pale-yellow colour

one side of the biscuit and sprinkle it with the
coconut. Add the chocolate chip eyes and a
pinch of the orange fondant icing to form into
a beak.
