Drinking and driving is one of the most common
causes of disastrous truck accidents. While the
government has taken strict measures to eliminate
drunk driving, families must continue be vigilant
on the roadways. Lets go through a few simple
ways through which you will be able to detect
signs of intoxication in a truck driver at
moments notice.
3
Quick acceleration and deacceleration
You will probably see this in a pattern. The
driver under the influence cant make up his/her
mind whether to accelerate or to deaccelerate.
This will result in quick acceleration followed
by deaccleration at regular patterns.
4
Tailgating
Sometimes, you might notice a truck driving
dangerously close to another vehicle in general
(or it can even be yours). Watch out for
aggressive truck drivers. Better let his pass and
inform the authorities ASAP.
5
Erratic braking
When you see a truck stopping without any
specific cause, you should start suspecting that
something might be going on with the driver. Look
for these patterns and keep your vehicle at bay
as much as possible. Remember preventions always
better than cure.
6
Dangerous swerving
If you notice a truck change its course
dangerously, watch out! The driver might be
drunk. Abrupt changes in course without notice
are another symptom related to drinking and
driving. Give these trucks a huge berth on the
highway and inform the authorities ASAP if you
observe erratic driving.
7
Driving on the wrong route
This is a pretty common problem that can result
in disastrous outcomes. If you notice any truck
driving into the opposing traffic on the wrong
side of the road, inform the authorities
immediately. It might be a definite case of
intoxication.
8
Slow response
Symptoms like delayed start or sudden stop can
convince the fact that the drivers driving under
intoxication. Look for these symptoms while you
are stuck in traffic.
