Human Cadaver Dissection
Students participate in a variety of dissections
of the human body to gain a more in depth
understanding of the structure and function of
the human body and the mechanisms for maintaining
homeostasis within it. The muscular, skeletal,
endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic,
respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive
systems, as well as the concepts of development,
and integration.

Our Facility
The Institute of Human Anatomy is located in an
education campus that is shared with Granite
School District, Granite Technical Institute,
BioInnovations Gateway, and Utah State
University. Classes, workshops, and medical
device trainings will be held in a state of the
art laboratory fully equipped with audio and
visual presentation capabilities. The lab is
outfitted with all necessary equipment,
protocols, and security to ensure the safety of
students and trainees.

Regulations
You must follow these rules and regulations in
order to participate in any courses utilizing the
cadaver lab. Your disregard of any of these
regulations could result in your immediate
dismissal from class

Preservation
In most cases, low concentrations of
2-Phenoxyethanol, or other chemicals with similar
properties, are used to preserve the cadavers for
study. 2-Phenoxyethanol is classified as a
carcinogen. It is imperative, therefore, that the
doors remain closed during courses so that the
ventilation system is optimized and your exposure
to these chemicals is reduced.
