ON WEST COAST
Swedish citizens are the primary buyers of
properties in the west coast of Sweden. Also,
since there is no restriction on foreign buyers,
the west coast is also popular among Norwegians,
Germans, Danes and Americans. How are these
buyers making these purchases? This is where real
estate agents come into the picture. Selecting a
good real estate agent, then, becomes tantamount
to making a satisfying purchase. Discussed below
are a few things to keep in mind before deciding
on a real estate agent.

REFERENCES
When meeting an agent it is important that the
buyer ask about prior clients and properties that
they have sold in the past. It is also imperative
to ask for references and reach out to these
people to check if anyone was disappointed with
the services they received. Do some research on
the asking price and selling price in the region
to ensure that you are getting your money's worth.

LICENSING
In order to become a broker on the West Coast and
the rest of Sweden, agents are required to do a
University course over a minimum of two years.
Brokers also need real estate licenses which are
renewed annually for a fee. In order to get their
license, agents need to be at least 18 years of
age, be financially solvent, and possess
liability insurance.

AWARENESS
The real estate market can often be a hyper-local
market and it is important that the broker be
aware of every property movement in the
neighborhood. If you are working with real estate
on the West Coast, then they need to have
expertise of the neighborhood and be aware of
which properties are on the market, what the
regulations are, if there are any historic homes
that require special expertise, etc. This helps
the buyer make a more informed decision.
