Igor Dzhura started his professional career in
1998. In the initial years, he worked as a
Research Associate, and handled a slew of duties
such as study of T-type (Cav3.2) channels
regulation, properties, pharmacology
(electrophysiology, RNA/DNA isolation, cell
culture, etc.). Additionally, he did regulation
of cardiac calcium channel by CAMKII
(electrophysiology, cell culture, transfection
PCR, cardiomyocytes isolation, animal husbandry,
PCR, etc.).

In 2008, he joined SUNY Department of Medicine
and Joslin Diabetes Center, Syracuse, NY. He
worked there as a Senior Research Associate and
did study of calcium signaling in pancreatic
ß-cells. Investigate the localization and
characterization of specific proteins. In this
research using fluorescent and confocal
microscopy, siRNA/shRNA lentiviral transduction,
creating genetically encoding biosensors.
