    who have managed to leave an imprint of their
    minds onto ours.

1. Annie Leibovitz

  • Annie Leibovitz is a world-renowned American
    photographer, famous for portrait photography.
    Shes photographed many famous celebrities in her
    career spanning over four decades. She joined
    Rolling Stones as a staff photographer in 1970
    and was later denominate the chief. In 1983, she
    left Rolling Stones as her desire was to expand
    her personal work.
  • She says photographers Robert Frank and Henri
    Cartier-Bresson greatly influenced her
    which helped her in developing her own style.

2. Steve McCurry

Steve McCurry is a photojournalist from America.
He worked for Todays Post for two years after
which, he moved to India. There, he started his
freelancing career. He went on to Pakistan where
he covered war-torn regions and rose to worldwide
fame. He photographed other wars over the
following years and in 1984, he captured one of
his most notable works, The Afghan Girl. The
photograph has been featured in National
Geographic magazine and is now arguably the most
recognised photograph.

3. Jeremy Cowart

Cowart started off as a painter who later
switched to graphic design. He founded his own
company Pixelgrazer, where he started clicking
photographs to use as templates for his digital
work. He soon gained an interest in photography
and in 2005, he started working as a full-time
photographer.

Mario Testino is a portrait and fashion
photographer from Peru. He started his work by
selling portraits for aspiring models in London.
His work has been featured in several magazines
including Vogue, Vanity Fair, and V magazine.

5. Michael Kenna

Michael Kenna is a landscape photographer best
known for his utilization of monochrome filters.
His works have a diaphanous appearance that
transport you into the scene. Kenna has won
several awards through his career including the
Golden Saffron Award, Institute for Aesthetic
Development Award, Art in Public Buildings Award,
and the Imogen Cunningham Award.

6. Anne Geddes

Anne Geddes is an Australian photographer
currently based in America, famous for doing
portraits of children in adorable setups. Geddes
has also published several books including her
photographs. Geddes, who started her work when
she was 25, has used children as subjects because
of her inclination towards them. Although most of
her work includes colourful setups, she prefers
her photos to be black and white as she believes
that colours are distracting.

7. Sebastião Salgado

Sebastião Salgado is a photojournalist and a
documentary photographer. Salgados works have a
dark, painful undertone that tell a story of
their own. His proclivity towards monochrome also
moves parallel to his perspectives. Salgados
landscape photographs especially convey a sense
of solitary bliss to the beholder. His work has
been featured in the 2014 documentary film The
Salt Of The Earth.

An American fashion photographer, Bruce Weber has
been in the business since the 70s. Having shot
for Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Pirelli,
Abercrombie Fitch, Revlon, and Gianni Versace,
his works have been featured in Elle, Life,
Vanity Fair and Vogue.

Sapna Reddy is a California based landscape
photographer who has recently risen to fame
through her amazing photographs from across the
world. She mostly photographs the wilds in
Northern America and manages to channel the
liveliness of the scene into the colours of her
photograph. She especially plays with lighting in
her works which contribute to the vivacity of her
photographs.

Based in India, Salim Islam is an emerging travel
photographer and travel blogger. An engineer and
a lawyer by profession, Salim recounts his
travels through his beautiful writings and
wondrous photographs that together, enable you to
feel as if you have been transported to the
destination itself. As evident from his
photographs, he is a mountain lover and prefers
to immerse himself into the culture and the
community, leaving parts of him behind, and
taking some from the place for himself.
