Title: Three Instances When to Request for a Gmat Waiver

1
THREE INSTANCESWHEN TO REQUEST FOR AGMAT WAIVER
2
The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is
a standardized test that is used for admission
into a graduate program and is a requirement for
most of the graduate programs around the
world. There are some instances when a GMAT
waiver can be offered for an MBA admission. The
conditions for the GMAT waiver have to be
fulfilled in order to be eligible for an MBA
program without giving the GMAT exam and it is
the discretion of the school to allow students
without a GMAT qualification to be eligible for
the program. Later on, we will identify the
instances whence a GMAT becomes dispensable. And,
there will also be a discussion about a GMAT
waiver request letter sample.

The basic requirements for a GMAT waiver to be
considered and which shall be included in a GMAT
waiver essay are previous academic and
co-curricular record of the student in the
undergraduate and lower levels of education. If
the student has displayed excellent academic
results, has great analytical and mathematical
skills which radiate from his academic record,
has a sound interest in other activities apart
from studies and has shown good verbal skills
throughout, he or she may be eligible for a GMAT
waiver.  This is mostly the case for many
institutes and the students who fulfill this
criterion usually have an exceptional CV and
overall personality, which make them fit for an
MBA program.

The school then has to decide whether the student
is fit enough to be admitted into the program and
whether the credentials of the past are worthy
and of note. Another important consideration is
the background of the school from which he
graduated. If the school has a good repute and is
known for its high standards, the student will be
preferred regardless of the GMAT exam and this is
a criterion that is not common, but is applied in
some instances. Make sure that your GMAT waiver
letter will convince the admissions committee to
spare you from taking the GMAT.

Some institutions dispense with the GMAT
requirement for applicants who have been in
extensive professional practice relevant to the
MBA degree applied for. According to some studies
those whose work experience is short, or those
who do not have any, tend to be weaker in
academic performance than those who have been
working for years. To ensure the quality of
students produced, some institutions mandatorily
require applicants with less than two years of
working experience to take their GMAT, and those
with more than two years of professional
experience are spared from taking the exam. For
applicants currently under employment make sure
to include in detail your work experience in the
GMAT waiver request letter.

In writing a waiver letter, and if you are
currently employed, focus on perfecting the work
history essay portion of the application.
Sometimes some institutions may also require a
resume. In that portion, one is recommended to
highlight the job responsibilities demanded from
you. And if you have been assigned to different
tasks, include the number of months or years that
you served in the position. Also include any
professional certifications or licenses with a
quantitative focus, i.e. board ratings, or
scores.

Check out for a GMAT waiver letter sample over
the internet, or simply ask for one from the
writer assigned to you by this online service.
Use the sample as a guideline in coming up with
your own waiver letter. You may submit that draft
to the writer and expect some revisions to
perfect the same. Not only samples are available
but also personal discourses with the writer. You
may fill in some suggestions and air out concerns
regarding the letter.

In one class, most of the students of an MBA
degree program are businessmen. And most of these
students have been running their businesses for
at least five years already. Institutions
offering MBA degree automatically waive the GMAT
requirement on these students. Precisely, MBA is
all about business and no GMAT beats experience
in running your own business. Applicants who
squarely fit in this third instance are expected
to have gained ground on the business sector. And
all they need to get a waiver is to write a
waiver letter narrating his business experience
in concise detail.

In Williams College of Business, their policy
states Creating a diverse community of students
is an essential element of Xaviers MBA programs.
Our students bring unique experiences and
perspectives to our classrooms, facilitating a
rich, collaborative learning environment.
Foregoing the GMAT/GRE permits established,
mid-career individuals to focus on their graduate
studies tapping their experience, skills, and
ideas and not having to divert time, energy,
and funding to a standardized test. Experience
in their own businesses, skills acquired, and
ideas put in to run the business are required to
be included in the letter of waiver.
