ENDOSTEAL

• Endosteal Implants are Placed in the Jawbone
• Shape like small Screws, Cylinders or Plates
• Most commonly used type of Implant

Horse shoe shaped stainless steel device.
Inserted into the mandible from one retromolar
pad to the other
Designed to mimic the shape of the tooth, for
directional load distribution
It consist of thin plates in the form of blade
embedded into the bone

SUBPERIOSTEAL
Placed directly beneath the periosteum overlying
the bony cortex

TRANSOSTEAL
Combines the subperiosteal and endosteal
components, penetrates both cortical plates

INTRAMUCOSAL

• Used with removable dentures
• Mushroom shaped design that attach to the gum
• Fit on the upper side of the mouth

FIBRO INTEGRATION

• Fibrointegrated implants are the earlier forms of
  dental implants that are not commonly used today,
  as they are not as successful.
• Presence of a layer of fibrous connective tissue
  intervening between a dental implant the
  adjacent bone.
• Proposed by Dr.Charles Wiess.

• These type of dentures are used as adjuncts
  stress distribution along with implants rather
  than used as implants by themselves
