  • Scandinavian style design is extremely popular in
the UK. You don't need to travel far to see how
true this is, just go to your local city and
you're highly likely to find an IKEA store. It is
one of the most popular stores in the UK, and not
just because their meatballs tastes amazing! No,
we love their style ideas, too.
  • Here we're going to look at five key styles of a
    Scandinavian kitchen. Anyone can incorporate
these into the interior design. The result is
always fantastic. The thing about Scandinavian
design, and this is true of Scandinavian kitchen
design too, is that it is a classic style. When
things a classical in style, they never go out of
    fashion.

They always look good. For example clothes that
fit well, are considered classical, and they very
rarely go out of fashion. In fact, they only go
out of fashion in niche fashion circles. E.g.,
when Kris Kross were in style it is all about big
baggy jeans. However, that was just a kids
fashion thing, and not actually mainstream
fashion. Ok so back to the topic at hand. Here
we can look at four key areas from which you can
borrow style advice from the Scandinavians.  1.
Mix up old and new fashions. If you browse Google
images for pictures of Scandinavian kitchens, you
see that there's lots of fancy wallpaper and old
style shelving. The shelving sometimes looks
weathered, like driftwood, and the result is
awesome shelving.

2. Combine stark colours with softening accents.
This might sound a little bit confusing but what
we mean by this is that the Scandinavians like to
have a clinical type of design. Theres a lot of
white, and it is quite star it brings to mind,
sort of, a hospital setting. However to counter
that, they like to add soft accents and
furnishings. For example, they might have white
tiling but soft pine countertops. The end result
is that the kitchen looks clean and crisp, but
at the same time, it also looks welcoming and
soft. Is a very hard thing to pull off, but the
Scandinavians can do it really well

To be able to pull it off in style, you will
probably have to get inspiration from an actual
Scandinavian kitchen design. Youll find
inspiration online at various social networking
sites, such as Pinterest. You can also use Google
images, which is really good. Finally, you can
buy fashion magazines, which usually have at
least one example of a Scandinavian kitchen.

3. Bring nature into the kitchen. Another thing
the Scandinavians do really well to counteract
that clinical appearance that can easily happen
without the soft furnishings and soft accents,
is to introduce nature to the kitchen. It can
really make a lot of difference in how the
kitchen feels. For example, many love to use
bright coloured flowers and vases. But my
favourite thing, is there a mini herb gardens.
Its just pulled off in such great style. IKEA
has plenty of ideas to help you grow your kitchen
herb garden.   If you would like to enquire
