What is Waste to Energy?
  • Waste to energy is a process of making
electricity from waste materials without causing
any damage to the environment. It involves
conversion of feedstock into gases by reacting
the feedstock at high temperatures without
    combustion.

3
Advantage of Gasification
  • Low-cost electricity supply is the biggest
    advantage of gasification process.
  • Energy generated at a 10MWe facility is
sufficient to light more than 25,000 homes.

4
Waste to Energy Conversion Process
  • Feedstock undergoes off-site preparation by
    specialist suppliers
  • The feedstock now a prepared fuel is further
    screened and stored on site

5
Waste to Energy Conversion Process
  • The prepared fuel is then stored and fed into one
of Gasifiers where it is heated under carefully
controlled conditions to form a fuel gas
  • This gas is then passed into a boiler for energy
conversion with the resultant steam being sent to
    a turbine for energy recovery

Cost of a Plant
  • It is an expensive venture but Cogen is always
ready to take the challenge. It has the team,
technology, knowledge and finance needed to
establish new plants. It has been working on
advanced gasification since long time and it has
plans to take the technology of advanced
    gasification to highest level.
