Rules Of Etiquette For a Business Lunch
2
Keeping up with an image in a business environment
  • Your image matters, especially when you're in a
    business environment.
  • Whether you're going to a business lunch with
your peers, recruiters, clients or partners, you
need to make sure you behave appropriately. Yet
many don't know proper dining etiquette in
    business hotels in Dubai.

3
Wait for Your guests
  • If you arrive at the restaurant first, wait to be
seated until your guest arrives. Sitting down
before them is a faux pas and can make it harder
    for them to find you.

4
Play host
  • If youre the one who arranged the meeting at a 4
Star Hotel, then youre the host, and you need to
act that way by handling the bill, making sure
your guest is comfortable, and possibly even
    making menu recommendations.

5
Dont bring up business talk too soon
  • Embrace small talk, but dont let it delay the
meal. You are there to get to know someone
outside a business setting, but that doesnt mean
it should take all day. Place your orders before
getting sidetracked talking about each others
    families, latest technology or movies.

6
Sync what you order
  • Skip either the most expensive, or the cheapest,
item on the menu, because it can signal to your
guest that youre focused on the price tag and
make them feel uncomfortable about their own
selections. Also, try to mirror the number of
courses that your guest chooses. If theyre
opting for a soup, salad, and main course, dont
just get one dish, or youll be watching them eat
while you wait for your own food to arrive.

7
Mind your manners
  • Remember what your mother taught you Bring your
food to your mouth, not vice versa use your
salad fork for the salad, and tilt the soup bowl
away from you. Manners can make a good impression.

8
Limit the messy grub
  • No matter how much youre craving steak or pizza,
skip it They are way too messy, and its pretty
much impossible to look professional while eating
    with your hands.
