WHAT IS DRY EYES?
  • Dry Eye can be defined as a lack of tears or an
    imbalance in the composition of the tear film in
    the eyes, which can lead to a feeling of
    grittiness, burning, itchiness and ironically can
    then cause excessive tearing. 
  • Interestingly the clinician can often see
    significant dry eye irritation of the surface of
    the eye, yet the patient does not perceive any
    irritation.
