What are umbilical cord stem cells? Umbilical
Cord is flexible in nature, attached to the
mothers placenta, an organ attached to the
uterine wall that, in turn, connects to the
mothers blood supply. Towards the end of
pregnancy, the placenta passes antibodies through
the umbilical cord to the baby. These gives baby
immunity from infections for about three months
after birth. However, it only passes on
antibodies that mother already has. The

of stem cells cord blood stem cells and cord
tissue stem cells. Through the science of cord

How are stem cells extracted from umbilical
cord? After a baby is born, cord blood is left
in the umbilical cord and placenta. It is
relatively easy to collect, with no risk to the
