  • Antoni Gaudí was a Spanish Catalan draftsman from
Reus and the best known specialist of Catalan
Modernism. Gaudí's works mirror an individualized
and particular style. Most are situated in
Barcelona, including his perfect work of art, the
    Sagrada Família.

  • Gaudí's work was impacted by his interests in
life building design, nature, and religion.
    Gaudí considered everything about his
    manifestations and coordinated into his
structural engineering such art works as
    earthenware production, recolored glass, created

  • The Basilica I Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada
Família is a huge Roman Catholic Church in
Barcelona, Catalonia, planned by Catalan designer
Antoni Gaudí. Albeit fragmented, the congregation
is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and in November
2010 Pope Benedict XVI sanctified and announced
it a minor basilica, as particular from a house
of prayer, which must be the seat of a bishop.

  • Development of Sagrada Família had initiated in
1882 and Gaudí got to be included in 1883, taking
over the venture and changing it with his
    building and designing style, consolidating
Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau frames. Gaudí
committed his last years to the undertaking, and
at the season of his passing at age 73 in 1926,
not exactly a quarter of the venture was
    complete.
  • Sagrada Família's development advanced gradually,
as it depended on private gifts and was hindered
by the Spanish Civil War, just to continue
irregular advancement in the 1950s. Development
passed the midpoint in 2010 with a portion of the
    venture's most noteworthy difficulties remaining
and a foreseen finishing date of 2026, the
    centennial of Gaudis death.

  • The Basilica of the Sagrada Família was the
motivation of a book shop, Joseph Maria
Bocabella, author of Association Espiritual de
Devotos de San José. After a visit to the Vatican
in 1872, Bocabella came back from Italy with the
goal of building a congregation enlivened by that
    at Loreto.

The apse tomb of the congregation that can be
visited today during Europe Tour Packages,
supported by gifts, was started 19 March 1882, on
the celebration of St. Joseph, to the
configuration of the planner Francisco de Paula
Del Villar, whose arrangement was for a Gothic
restoration church of a standard form.
