The stone of 135-km Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP)
Expressway and Kundli-Ghziabad-Palwal (KGP) was
laid by PM Narendra Modi with a capital outlay of
Rs 13,000 crore. Known as Western Peripheral
Expressway (WPE) and Eastern Peripheral
Expressway (EPE) respectively, both the projects
will revive Modis commitment to infrastructural
and industrial development in Delhi NCR. Both the
mega projects from the previous BJP government
were hanging fire for over a decade .

The PM also flagged off the project to extend the
Delhi-Chandigarh sector of NH-1. With the
initiation of the mega projects, the growing
demand of affordable housing in Delhi NCR will be
resolved as the expressway will witness many
residential and commercial clusters around them.

These mega infrastructural developments will
boost major economic activities, job creation,
and availability of better business
opportunities. Moreover, NCR commuters will be
able to enjoy a signal-free ride in NCR cities.
Both the expressways will have a positive impact
on the realty sector as better connectivity
affects all property buying decisions. Improved
connectivity will also boost other development
activities in the region.
