1
Matcha Powder Green Tea Makes for Healthy Drinks
2
  • Matcha powder green tea from Japan is by now very
much known to be the best quality matcha tea
compared to other matcha imported from, say,
    China.

3
  • Even culinary grade matcha powder, a little bit
lower quality powder grade compared to ceremonial
grade matcha powder, still has a great deal of
health benefits so long as it comes from Japan.

4
  • According to a 2003 research published in the
    Journal of
  • Chromatography found that matcha powder green tea
  • contains 137 times more EGCG (epigallocatechin
    gallate)
  • antioxidants than other types of tea.
  • This nutrient alone along with its other
  • catechins and nutrients has been proven
  • to fight cancer, heart disease,
  • and other cell destroying
  • free radicals absorbed by the body.

5
  • Matcha Orange Cocktail
  • 1 teaspoon matcha
  • 2 ½ teaspoons sugar
  • 4 ice cubes
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • ½ cup 100 cold orange juice
  • In a small bowl combine the matcha, sugar, and
hot water mix until the sugar is dissolved. Pour
the matcha into a tall glass with the ice cubes
and let sit for a minute before topping with the
    orange juice.

6
  • Minty Matcha Mojito
  • 1 juiced lime
  • 1 tablespoon cane sugar
  • 1 teaspoon matcha
  • 5 fresh mint leaves
  • Crushed ice
  • 2 ounce sparkling soda water
  • 1½ ounce rum
  • Sliced strawberries (optional)
  • Add the matcha, mint leaves, sugar, and lime
juice to the bottom of a glass and use a muddler
to mix it around well. Mix and muddle until the
sugar is dissolved and you can smell the mint.
Add the crushed ice to the glass and then top
with soda and rum. Garnish with additional mint
leaves if desired. Though the strawberries are
optional, the sliced fruit actually improves the
taste together with the mint leaves and you get
to enjoy the drink better by munching on the
    strawberries.
