Title: What is wisdom?  This is one of the world’s timeless Big Questions

1
What is wisdom?  This is one of the worlds
timeless Big Questions
  • Wisdom is a morality that is not innate, but can
only be got through experience. Everyone who is
interested in trying new things and thinks about
on the process has the ability to gain wisdom. By
learning as much as you can examine your
experiences and putting your knowledge to the
test, you can become a wiser person.

According to Lama Surya Das
Wisdom is an endangered natural resource today,
in our agitated and benighted world. We overlook
and ignore it at our peril. Wisdom is as wisdom
does. One would be foolish if enlightened only
from the eyebrows up. Wisdom is the panacean
pearl of great price and priceless too. Wisdom
can be developed and it can also be awakened
within us. Working from both ends or sidesfrom
outside in, or from top down as well as from
bottom up, swooping while climbingwe can
gradually explore, develop and attain discerning
wisdom through information and learning, first
then investigation and inquiry, analysis,
reflection and contemplation leading
progressively to greater conceptual
understanding, self-awareness and application (in
daily life) integration, realization,
illumination, gnosis,  and ultimately the wisdom
which surpasses understanding.
3
Meanwhile, we can attend mindfully to things and
relations, causes and effects in such a way as to
awaken our direct intuition and an instantaneous,
unmediated (by thought and concept) holistic
grasp of the entire situation. As the ancient
Chinese saying goes She who knows the world has
knowledge, she who knows herself is wise.
According to Buddhism - wisdom?
The superior wisdom is seeing that in reality all
phenomena are incomplete, temporary and not self.
This comprehension is totally freeing and conduct
to the great security and happiness which is
called Nirvana. True wisdom comes to each of us
when we realize how little we understand about
life, ourselves and the world around us. The only
true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.
Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.
Wisdom is that which directs information toward
good--toward the creation of value.
4
When wisdom is working in our life, it has the
effect of allow us to overcome the established
views of our habitual thinking and arrive at a
fresh and holistic view of a given situation. We
are able to make a wide evaluation of the facts,
find the essence of an issue and steer a sure way
toward happiness. Wisdom dissipates our delusions
of separateness and awakens in us a sense of
empathetic equality with all living things.
Ways to Get Wisdom
The wisdom that comes from above is pure,
peaceable, kindly and considerate, it is
compassionate and shows itself by the good it
does not is there any trace of partiality in
it.Purity - Wisdom will remove dross. It will
simplify and raise value. A pure idea is, like
any precious metal, worth more than a mixed
alloy.
5
Peaceable - It will calm things down.  Kindly
and considerate - Wisdom will leave other people
feeling heard and understood. Its purpose is to
build community. Compassionate - It will
forgive. It doesn't catalogue failure. It accepts
people and gives second chances. Shows itself by
the good it does. It is about outcomes. Impartia
lity - Wisdom will honor difference. It will get
value out of diversity. No hypocrisy in it -
Wisdom is the real deal! It isn't trying to make
a hard sell or hoodwink anyone. It is just trying
to do the right thing. You get it as you apply
all that youve learned from the above. You get
wisdom by taking risks, making mistakes and
learning from your experiences.Article Source
