It goes without saying that copper is one of the
most important metals in the manufacturing and
other industries. There are lots of astonishing
features of copper that make it the most
versatile metal on earth. It is ductile in nature
and it is resistant to heat and temperature. This
makes it the ideal element for usage in critical
industries. Copper wire is one of the most
important products that is made of this metal.
The wires are manufactured in different ways and
they result in different kinds that can be used
in diverse fields. When the wire is annealed, it
is wrapped on reels and can be used for bunching.

  • Among the various types of wires made of copper,
    the bunched copper wire is highly popular. After
    all, it can be used in wide varieties of
    applications and serves several purposes, as a
    whole.
  • Flexibility and reliability-
  • One of the major reasons for which the
    bunched wires are used is because of the
    flexibility. These are available in various sizes
    and forms. Consequently, they can be used in
    electrical and mechanical industries. It rates
    high when it comes to wiring in circuit boards or
    other connections that require tight bends or
    moving joints. These are also reliable in the
    sense that they are easy to use and serve a great
    purpose for a long time to come.

2. Serves the purpose of a connector-
  • These wires are often used as a rope or a
    connector. It can be easily tied into knots
    mainly because of the fact that it is free from
    kinks. Moreover, the flexibility and strength of
    the wire helps it to work as a connector letting
    the electricity pass from one surface to another
    smoothly and easily. Apart from the electrical

    aeronautic, automobile and others.

  • The bunched wires are highly economical in
    nature, and this is again because of the
    flexibility. The solid wires have mechanical
    ruggedness which can be easily overcome in the
    bunched forms. These copper wires have relatively
    less surface area exposed to the corrosives of
    the environment. It can be used with ease in
    applications that require repeated bending.

4.Tinned coating is possible-
  • The bunched wires offer the opportunity to
    coat them with tin. The coating adds to the
    strength and durability of the wires so that
    these can be used in several applications. In
    tinned wires, each strand of wire is coated with
    tin either through hot dipping or electroplating.
    It has higher resistance in comparison to the
    solid wires of the same diameter. This is mainly
    because of the cross-section of the strands in
    bunches with unavoidable gaps in between.

5.Does not produce stress-
  • The rigidity in the solid wire can often result
    in stress and thereby result in movement while
    assembling. However, this is not the case with
    bunched forms because of its flexibility. It does
    not cause any stress for which it is used in AC
    line cords, computer mouse cables, musical
    instrument cables etc.
