• Subtotal Hysterectomy - A subtotal hysterectomy
  is the removal of the uterus, leaving the cervix
  in situ
• Radical Hysterectomy - This operation includes
  the removal of the uterus, cervix, the top
  portion of the vagina and most of the tissue that
  surrounds the cervix in the pelvic cavity.

• During the surgery, the uterus can be removed
  through a cut in the vagina (vaginal
  hysterectomy) or in the abdomen (abdominal
  hysterectomy), depending on the reason for the
  surgery.

• After the surgery you need to be in hospital for
  5 days following surgery, and it takes about 6-8
  weeks to fully recover. Depending upon the type
