days which is why social media platforms are
genius! They allow us to take control of our
website traffic and drive it as much as we want
to.

3 reasons why I LOVE presentation platforms
1. They increase website traffic.
2. Theyre a great way to get a little more bang
out of my blog post. (Content Ive already
written.)
3. It helps me gage my audience and find out what
theyre most interested in. I can go back and see
what presentations were more popular and that
helps me to choose things to write about.

Take your blog post and turn it into a
presentation using PowerPoint or Keynote! Now,
with just a little more effort, youve totally
repurposed your content and youre reaching a
whole other medium!

There are lots of presentation sites out there
more seem to be popping up everyday. My
strategy is to keep it simple. I have 3
platforms that I upload presentations to which
works well.

SlideShare has changed a little bit over the last
year for the good! The service, which has over
60 million users, is now FREE. I get quite a
bit of website traffic from SlideShare. ?

A HUGE plus about SlideShare if you dont have
a presentation software you can set one up right
there. Then you just download it to your desktop
and upload it to another presentation platform.

authorStream is probably my favorite presentation
sharing website, its not as large as SlideShare
(yet) which brings its advantages. The owners
of the platform are really hands on and help
promote the content of premium users. Its also
easier for your content to stand out.

If a large amount of people watch, share or
download your presentation then your content can
get chosen as featured and will be shown on the
front page of the website as top content. My
content has been chosen often, as a result Ive
gained a lot website traffic from it.

Side note Its always interesting to me to see
what people respond to the most, sometimes I
write content I think is a home run, but then I
publish and hear crickets. Yet, other content
that I dont feel is my best work gets a ton of
traffic. This is why we need to listen to our
audience tell us what we should write about.

Truthfully, I havent been using this site for
very long but I like the ease of uploading so I
will continue to use it to see if I can get some
traction from it. Its growing and theres
gossip of new features on the horizon so Ill
stay with it for a while.

like anything else when it comes to planning out
a marketing strategy once you get the platforms
and a process set up it really is rather
effortless.

We have a presentation template that we use for
Perfect Marketing Equation and the only thing
that gets changed out is the title and the main
content pages. So it really is pretty easy. If
youll look at my content across all the three
channels you see that my presentations all look
alike.

ONE Nobody cares, so dont kill yourself
creating dazzling presentations that have words
flying left and right. The content just needs
to be good it doesnt have to be fancy. Also,
keep in mind most views come from a mobile device
so it needs to be simplified to give the viewer
the best experience.

TWO Its great for branding, when people see my
stuff they recognize it. Its more important to
me to be memorable than overly fancy.

If you see several of my presentations youll
notice that the last few pages are always the
same. This is a great way to ask people to
follow you, share links to your social media
and/or downloads you have available. These pages
are stationary so they never have to be touched
until theyre updated.

When you upload your presentations youll see an
option to allow people to download them. I
always get asked if I allow my presentations to
be downloaded and the very quick answer is of
course I do!

We create content to educate and share, if youre
going to put it out there you may as well let
people download it. I think its awesome when
my content gets downloaded! As a writer, I
consider it a great compliment! ?

Whats great about presentations is they can come
up easier in organic results but for that to
happen when setting up your profiles youll need
to have a very consistent keyword structure in
your marketing strategy. Each platform will ask
you for keywords to classify your presentation
slides.
