IUI - Intrauterine insemination

• Intrauterine insemination or what is commonly
  referred to as IUI treatment is a simple
  infertility treatment which involves a procedure
  of separating the fast moving sperm from the more
  sluggish or non-moving sperm in a laboratory
• It is a procedure wherein a small tube is used to
  place specially washed sperm directly into the
  uterus

• In other words, in the middle of the
  menstruation cycle, the fast moving sperm are
  placed into the womans womb around the time of
  her ovulation period
• when the egg is released from the ovary. IUI is
  also more commonly referred to as artificial
  insemination (AI).

• There are a number of cases in which a clinic may
  recommend one to go for IUI treatment. For
  example, if there is unexplained infertility or
  ovulation problems. Also if the woman's cervical
  mucus is less than ideal, then too IUI treatment
  may be suggested. It may also be suggested when
  the male partner experiences premature ejaculation

• IUI infertility treatment is pretty simple
  treatment
• But even though fertility drugs are not always
  used during IUI, some doctors may choose to use
  an ovulation drug like Clomid to increase the
  rate of success.
