Why Regular Acne Treatment Stop Working

Description:

Unfortunately, regular acne treatments only tackle the warning signs of acne, rather than the issue itself. They seek to clean out pores and kill bacteria. Instead, they should seek to deal with the hormone DHT, which causes an excess of oil creation in the skin. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Title: Why Regular Acne Treatment Stop Working

1
Why Regular Acne Treatments Stop Working
2
  • Unfortunately, nearly 50 million Americans suffer
from acne. Many people believe that it is a
condition that only affects adolescents. While
this is partly true over three-fourths of young
adults endure it 95 of people experience acne
at some point in their lives. Yet, although so
many people suffer from acne, there are many
misconceptions about why acne arises and what can
    be done to stop it.

3
Common Misconception
  • We all see acne commercials on TV showing
graphics of our pores getting clogged and the
resulting blackheads and bumps. These images can
often be misleading and scary. Most adults about
to start an acne treatment imagine that acne is
caused by clogged pores and bacteria, what they
eat, how often they wash their face, or their
type of makeup. While clogged pores, bacteria,
diet, dirt and cosmetics can contribute to the
problem, they are often just the symptoms to a
    deeper underlying issue.

  • Instead, the true source of the problem is
something that all of us have hormones.
Specifically, it is the hormone DHT
(dihydrotestosterone) and its effects on your oil
glands. An enzyme located in the skin, called
    5-alpha reductase, transfigures testosterone into
DHT. The DHT then attaches itself to receptors in
the oil glands. The stimulation oil gland by DHT
spurs disproportionate creation of oil in
unhealthy amounts. This glut of oil fills the
skins pores and clogs them causing white heads
and black heads and eventually bacteria that is
always present on the skin grow within them
causing the inflammation we know as acne.

 Regular Acne Treatments
  • As a result of this widespread misconception, the
most common acne solutions treat the problem
cosmetically. They try to go in and kill the
bacteria that exist and open up the pores for
which clears existing acne but unfortunately this
is only a temporary solution. While these acne
products may deal with the existing acne they do
nothing to solve the underlying issue of DHT.
This means repeated breakouts and in the long
run, customers will be frustrated by these
    treatments lack of effectiveness.

Best Anti-DHT Acne Products
  • Since killing the bacteria and opening the pores
is not a long term solution many dermatologists
prescribe treatments that help counteract DHT in
addition to regular acne medications. Birth
Control for women is the most common of such
treatments followed by Aldactone, a blood
pressure pill that also blocks DHT. Another way
to make the oil gland resistant to DHT is
Accutane. It permanently shrinks the oil gland
preventing it from over producing oil even in
presence of DHT. All of these treatments require
a prescription from a doctor and have potential
    side effects.

  • Clearogen is the only available over the counter
acne treatment that treats existing acne as well
as address DHT topically. First, Clearogen
    employs natural DHT-fighting molecules that
reduce DHT production to stop the cycle of acne
production before it starts. Second it blocks DHT
from stimulating the oil glands.. Third it
clears existing acne by killing the bacteria,
opening the pores, and reducing inflammation.
Using this three pronged approach Clearogen
addresses the root of the problem, and stops the
cycle to provide a long term and successful acne
    treatment.
