  of gratitude to God by serving the society. It is
  a justice meted out by servants of God Us, to
  the needy and the helpless. As we speak of
  justice, Islam has embraced truth and equality as
  equivalent to faith and therefore made charity
  mandatory and applicable to the people following
  Islam. Charity in Islam is also known as Zakat
  and has been incorporated as an institution to
  assure prevalence and sincerity in delivering
  charity.
