How to Round and EstimateWhat you must know

• Look to the right and see if it is 0-4 then you
  stay the same.
• If its five or more then you add one more.
• If the number in the tenth column is a 9 and it
  rounds up then you have to add one to the number
  in the ones column.

What would this be?

• Round to the nearest tenth 3.14
• 3.1
• 5.65738
• 5.7
• 5.9564
• 6.0

Explanation

• 3.14 is 3.1 because if you look to the right of
  the one then you see that the number is between 0
  and 4 so the one stays a one.
• Now with 5.65738 five causes the 6 to become a
  7.
• 5 causes the 9 to round to 10 and so you have to
  add one to the in the ones column.

• Round 2.80 to the nearest tenth
• Correct!!!!
• Ok now round to the nearest hundredth, 6.764
• Right!!!
• Still hundredths, 9.98
