Good And Cheap
There is no other place in Vancouver with so much
affordable variety. Overwhelmed strangers wander
the Drive for hours indecisive about where to eat.

Pizza
This is one of the cheapest and fastest foods to
eat on the Drive and you can get it on almost
every block!

Little Italy

• In the 1960s Little Italy migrated from the
  Strathcona neighbourhood to Grandview-Woodlands,
  bringing great food and espresso bar culture to
  Commercial Drive.

Move Over Little Italy!
In recent years a greater variety of food has
opened up on the Drive.

The Cool Riddim Spice Guy

• Hangs out in front of his café and talks with
  everyone who goes by
• Allows activists and gig promoters to park their
  gear in his café while postering the Drive
• Has a big painting of Bob Marley on the café wall
• Has a fabulous spider web tattoo on his head
• Serves food that has made Commercial and 3rd
  smell really really good!

• Every day I enjoy a conversation with someone on
  the Drive who makes or serves food.

Making Food
Kenji is one of the fastest Sushi artists on the
Drive. Here he is making a veggie roll. Notice
how the mat is a blur. That is how fast he is
rolling!

Great Food For Cooking At Home

• La Grotta Del Formaggio, at Second Ave and
  Commercial, is run by a friendly couple who are
  about to become grandparents. When we are not
  talking about babies, we talk about bread and
  olive oil.

• Normans, at Commercial and Graveley, has lovely
  produce. Not only do
• I get good deals on large orders for canning but,
  I have also seen James Barber shop here!

Sitting Outside
This is the social happening of the
neighbourhood. There are sidewalk traffic jams as
everybody and their dog stops and chats with
friends.
