PROBLEM SCENARIO
  • Total Area of Lesotho is 30,400 square kms
  • Decrease of arable land from 13 to 9 in 30
    years
  • Annual soil loss of 40 tonnes/ha/year
  • Youth unemployment of 65-70
  • Increase in rural-urban migration

The NEYC Goal
  • To address the serious problem of environmental
    degradation in Lesotho, whilst also engaging
    youth in environmental management and land
    rehabilitation

  • To increase the number of potential trainers on
    environmental issues at community level

  • Selling of recyclable waste materials
