What we do
  • Prepare children by teaching the curriculum from
lots of different angles, - software games,
    activities, books, videos and practical
    application.
  • Provide homework booklets that consist of
    previous SAT questions.
  • Discuss the format of the test papers use of
time, the marks, to highlight important bits,
text and tables, moving on and to ask the teacher
to read the question if they do not understand
    what it says.

8
What we do
  • We use Science lessons for revision after Easter
  • We have an extra teacher to help the Level 3/4
    children.
  • Offer Level 4/5 Booster Classes after Easter.

9
How can you help your child?
  • Encourage your child to believe in themselves.
  • Remind them that the tests are important, but
they are not the only way their ability is
    measured.
  • Provide a relaxed, environment to study. Build in
    time for breaks and leisure.
  • Look through a practise paper together and talk
    about possible answers.
  • Work through revision guides with them. Get them
to read to you ( this will indicate word
recognition) and encourage them to use the
    revision web sites.
  • Do not put your child under too much pressure.
Have fun with revision. They will find things
easier to remember if they remember the good
    times they had learning.
