Other Things that Help

• Check Add/Remove Programs for programs you dont
  recognize. Look them up on Google. Delete the
  ones you dont use
• Clean up your Desktop (that takes up RAM, which
  slows down the computer)
• Use an Internet Browser with an efficient pop up
  blocker (most versions of IE do not have one)
• Consolidate Running Programs
• Only use one IM program (like GAIM that
  encompasses many different IM clients)
• Programs like Desktop Weather that start at boot
  can really slow your computer down at times
