Our shelter was established over 25 years ago to
provide a safe haven for stray, abandoned, abused
or lost pets. It's named for Frances Willis,
who brought the SPCA to Dorchester County and
founded the shelter. Over the years we have
expanded our facility, but we continue to reach
our capacity due to our growing community and
because the pet overpopulation crisis is not
abating. In 2002 the shelter served nearly 5,000
homeless or unwanted animals. But there is good
news. We are very proud to have an adoption rate
which exceeds the ASPCA national average, and
we're working hard to spread the news about pet
adoption, spaying and neutering, and responsible
pet ownership.

Listed below are items that are always in need at
the Frances R. Willis SPCA Your donation of any
or all of these items is greatly appreciated. We
accept donations at the shelter during operating
hours. If you are not able to drop off your
donation, call the shelter to arrange for a
volunteer to collect the items.
