  • Potable water uses energy. Transmission and
    treatment. Large network transfers (Water Grid)
    rare mostly already in place.

  • Govt has introduced ECA for some RWH components.
  • No over arching regulator They pull in opposite
    directions OFWAT-EAW-DEFRA-DTI-WCC.

  • At present it is free
  • Can be used to get ISO 14001
  • Many planning departments insist on environmental
    benefits being included on new buildings.
  • In some processes better than domestic water.

What can Rainwater be used for?
  • Flushing WCs, urinals.
  • Washing laundry.
  • Washing down and garden irrigation.
  • All above uses in schools, public buildings,
    offices, stadia, shops, etc, etc..
  • Industrial low grade water uses.
  • Why use high quality water for dirty
    processes?
