Studies indicate that engaged students are more

career. A local chapter of Phi Theta Kappa

Recent national Community College Survey of
Student Engagement results indicated that some 85
percent of community college students have zero
engagement with their institutions outside of the
classroom.  A perfect antidote to such pervasive
lack of involvement is Phi Theta Kappa, an
organization that focuses on the development of
the whole student in the particular areas of
scholarship, leadership, service, and
fellowship.   It has been my experience over 40
years at eight colleges, including six as a
CEO, that a strong, viable, active Phi Theta
Kappa chapter contributes significantly to the
strength and viability of the institution. Dr.

campuses of Copiah-Lincoln Community College
