    Residence to prepare Anangu students for the
    future?

Our Vision The vision of the Wiltja Program is
to provide a safe and supportive living
environment in which young people are valued and
nurtured to enable them to develop cross cultural
and other social and living skills and reach
their intellectual, academic and social
potential. The aim of the program, in the main,
is to develop the skills, talents, abilities and
confidence of Anangu students in the mainstream
education and cultural process to enable them to
gain greater self management of their communities
as adults within those communities.

The Residence

Learning how to look after the Residence and own
belongings
Students have to look after their own rooms,
washing and keep the Residence clean.

In 2007 our Senior class went to New Zealand.
They gained experience in interacting with and
learning about people from other cultures and
experienced many new and at times confronting
mainstream processes.

Senior students visited the QEH to learn about
the work of people in Medical Professions and
equipment used

Visit to Chinatown
Students experiencing the foods of other cultures
as part of a SOSE unit.

Health Sciences students have been learning
about body systems, careers in health and how to
keep fit and healthy through exercise and diet.

  • Since 2006, our Year 10 students have been
    participating in Business Week at Woodville High
    School.
  • The students work in teams and learn about
    managing their own company.
