GT Program Goals 2007-2008
  • Primary Enrichment Program (PEP) Grades K-2 This
    school year will be the third year of a three
    year implementation plan. Students in grades K-2
    will receive PEP services which include mini
    themes, reflecting NJCCCS and district
    initiatives focusing on literacy skills.
  • Elementary (Grades 3-5) Using an
    interdisciplinary approach, students will embark
    on an Astro-Adventure, introducing them to the
    science of astronomy and the biggest screen in
    the universe-the sky.
  • Lakeside Middle School (Grades 6-8) Continued
    implementation of interdisciplinary themes per
    grade level, emphasizing acceleration and
    differentiation to maximize student potential and
    expand oral communication, writing, research and
    technology skills through independent project
    development.
  • Secondary (Grades 9-12) at MHS and MSHS
    Continued college and career education
    opportunities, independent projects, mentorship
    experiences and participation in academic team
    competitions and activities in coordination with
    small learning communities.
  • Family-based learning experiences are encouraged
    at all grade levels.
  • GT curriculum reflects integration of the NJCCCS
    and district initiatives.
