13Tailgating Awareness Project
- Students share their thoughts
- Tekia Timmons, President, The Village Student
Government. - Comments about Village safety issue
- -There is a need to increase awareness regarding
safety, - -Students are not always aware of security
issues.they loan their keys, cards, etc. to
people - -Most tailgating occurs at the turn around.
- Suggestions/ideas/input
- -The best time to hand out the postcards would be
during move-in (the beginning of each semester). - -If we decide to redesign the card, perhaps an
actual photo of the Village entrance would make
students connect the safety issue more directly
to the Village - -Give candy along with the cards.
14Tailgating Awareness Project
- Tourgee Simpson, Village CA (Community Assistant)
and Student Government Association President. - Comments
- -Security is an issue
- -Part of the problem in changing peoples
behavior is a problem of common courtesy (i.e.,
people are too politeand hold doors for each
other, etc.) - Suggestions/ideas/input
- -Limit the number of entrances and exits, so
there are fewer places for tailgating to occur. - -The cards would have a positive impact on
residents
