Definition of a Certified Wellness Practitioner
  • The Certified Wellness Practitioner is a
    college/university educated undergraduate who has
    knowledge and experience in current theory and
    strategies in health promotion and disease
    prevention. The CWP is able to utilize effective
    health promotion models to assess needs, and
    consequently design, implement and evaluate
    interventions for individuals and populations. A
    CWP also has the ability to apply current
    theories and models to encourage others to engage
    in health promotion and prevention activities.
    The CWP can also help create health-enhancing
    environments through the initiation of
    organizational and cultural changes. This
    individuals education is grounded in scientific
    theory and fact, program implementation design,
    marketing strategy and promotion, and a thorough
    understanding of human wellness potential.
