What is recycling?

• To put or pass through a cycle again as for
  further treatment
• To extract and reuse (useful substances)

Why do we recycle?

• Personal responsibility to keep America beautiful
• It saves space (landfills)
• It saves energy (13-95 of the energy required to
  manufacture goods from virgin materials
• It creates jobs
• It reduces pollution

What do we recycle?

• Unbroken glass
• Newspapers and inserts
• Metal cans, caps, lids, bands, and foil
• Plastic bags
• Mixed papers junk mail, magazines
• Scrap aluminum lawn chairs, screen doors,
• Motor oil
• Automobile batteries
• Rechargeable batteries cordless phones,
  camcorders, shavers, portable appliances,
  computers, etc.
• Laser / Ink cartridges
• Scrap metal
