16
Think about the Consequences
  • Follow the story path to see how making certain
    choices leads to different consequences.
  • Its Saturday afternoon, and youre over at your
friend Kellys house. Her friend Jake, who you
dont know very well, drops by. You all play
computer games for a while. Then Jake says. I
know where theres a great party. Kelly wants to
play basketball, so Jake asks if you want to go
    along with him.
  • Sure, Ill go to the party
  • No thanks. You stay with Kelly.

17
  • You and Kelly shoot some hoops outside. Shes a
great athlete, and you know she can teach you a
lot about basketball. Youre glad you decided to
    stay at her house.
  • Great Decision !!!

18
  • When you get to the party, you notice that no
adults are around. Some kids in a corner are
smoking and drinking beer. You recognize Wendy
from school. Hi! Have a beer, says Wendy.
  • You accept the beer
  • You say no and go home

19
  • You hurry home, where youre in time for dinner.
As you eat, you think about how good everything
tastes and how glad you are to relax at home.
  • Great Decision!!!

20
  • You drink some beer. You dont really like the
taste, so you put the beer down when nobody is
looking. You go to the next room to see if any
of your friends are there. You find a group of
kids you dont know who are smoking marijuana.
  • You stay at the party.
  • You leave and go home.

21
  • At home, your mom smells beer on your breath and
asks where youve been. You explain about the
party. Youre told, Its good that you were
smart enough to leave, but Ill have to ground
you for breaking the rules in this house about
    not using alcohol.

22
  • Someone hand you a joint and says, Come on, try
it. Youre feeling uncomfortable and suddenly
the door opens and an angry looking adult walks
in. He yells, What is going on here? Nobody
leaves until I get your names and phone numbers.
Your families will hear about this. You know
you are in really bad trouble now.

23
6. Take Action
  • Now you know how to make smart decisions about
    drugs and alcohol.
  • Simplest answer to someone who offers you drugs
    is to say NO
  • Ways to Say NO!!
  • Suggest something else to do instead. lets go
    to the movies instead.
  • Say why you dont want to take drugs. Ive got a
game. Drugs make it hard to play.

24
Ways to Say NO!!
  • If youre with a large group of friends, find
someone who is not using drugs and stick with
them. Excuse me, I see someone I know over
    there.
  • Make it clear you dont approve. No way I
    dont need that stuff.
  • Change the subject (talk about something else)
