  fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until
  it receives the early and the late rains. 8

• Farmers cannot be impatient
• Crops do not grow overnight.
• They have no control over the weather.

• Precious produce of the soil
• The harvest is worth waiting for (Mark
  4.28-29 Galatians 6.9)
• God is producing a harvest in our lives.
• Establish your hearts (Luke 8.11-15).
• Do not complain.

  name of the Lord. James

• Prophets suffered, but were patient
• "Blessed are those who are persecuted for
  righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of
  heaven. "Blessed are you when others revile you
  and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil
  against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be
  glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so
  they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

  Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord,
  how the Lord is compassionate and
  merciful James 511-12

• loss of wealth, health, family
• friends attacked as sinner and hypocrite
• Satan predicted Job would turn against God
• Job learned of Gods compassion and mercy
