AWI VISIBILITY SENSOR

• Patented four head, forward scatter design
• 1. Measures direct and indirect scattered energy
  resulting in self compensation for optic
  contamination.
• 2. Redundant design one head failure does not
  cause sensor failure.
• 3. Four head design aids in implementation of
  built in test (BIT) algorithms for enhanced self
  diagnostics and data integrity checking.

MTBF and Maintenance

• The 8364-E Visibility sensor has an MTBF in
  excess of 65,000 hours.
• The design of the sensor allows for a far less
  rigorous maintenance schedule. The system only
  requires quarterly cleaning and annual
  calibration check.
• In the event of a head failure, the system will
  continue to operate at the same accuracy's on
  only three heads, thus extending the maintenance
  free period.

Testing and Evaluation.

• The All Weather Inc. visibility sensor was
  selected by Transport Canada for 120 Airports .
• The system was thoroughly tested for two years
  before certification and installation by
  Transport Canada.
• The tests took place at St Johns test center in
  Canada and covered operation over two winter
  seasons and two summer seasons, and a wide range
  of extreme conditions
