  Development
• 1. Rapid growth of women entrepreneurs
• Similar with survey 2003, nearly 80 women
  entrepreneurs registered their businesses after
  1995, Chinese female entrepreneurs has entered
  the on-going peak stage of starting up their own
  business ever since.

• 1. Escalating investments of women
  entrepreneurs
• Enterprises with registered capital of RMB 1-10
  million cover the largest proportion, 39.5 and
  37.6 of the enterprises run by men and women
  respectively are in this range, and the
  difference isnt big. Compared with the data of
  survey 2003, the proportion of enterprises with
  registered capital above RMB 10 million is
  increasing, the proportion of such scale of
  enterprises run by women grew from 36.6 to 43.1
  (see Figure 12).

• 3. Female employees in women-run enterprises
  cover a proportion above 50
• As shown in Figure 13, percentage of female
  employees in women-run enterprises is above 50,
  higher than the proportion in men-run enterprises
  as a whole. However, the number is slightly
  lowered compared with the proportion in 2003. It
  indicates that the employment pressure of women
  is currently increasing and it needs our concern.

• 4. Women-run enterprises cover all walks of
  life
• Women-run enterprises almost cover all trades
  within the scope of statistics in China. The
  enterprises are mainly distributed in
  manufacturing (37.2), whole sale/retailing/trade/
  restaurant (28.2) and social service (10.6).
  This result is similar with the result in survey
  2003 (see Fig 14).

• 5. The age structure of women entrepreneurs is
  reasonable, 80 of them drop within the age range
  of 31-50
• The age structure of women entrepreneurs is very
  reasonable, 80 drop in the age range of 31-50,
  within the 80, most of them drop in the age
  range of 41-50, covering about 56 of the total
  number of women entrepreneurs.

• 6. Education level of women entrepreneurs is
  slightly higher than that of men entrepreneurs
• Similar with survey 2003, education level of
  women entrepreneurs is still a bit higher than
  that of men entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs
  with technical college education cover 58, 4
  percents higher than men entrepreneurs (54) in
  terms of postgraduate and above 5 percents
  higher than men entrepreneurs.

• 7. Health conditions of Women Entrepreneurs
• (1) Work efficiency of women entrepreneurs is
  improved.
• Daily work time of women entrepreneurs is still
  relatively long, 96 women entrepreneurs work for
  8-12 hours a day, dropped by 2 compared with the
  year 2003. Nearly 10 women entrepreneurs work
  for over 12 hours, dropped by 14.9 compared with
  the year 2003.

• (2) Sleep and recreation hours of women
  entrepreneurs
• According to 2005 survey, sleep time of women
  enterprises is still short, 7 hours a day. They
  spend about 1-2 hours to take care of their
  families, 1.6 hours to entertain and do exercises
  (concentrated on weekends).
