NIEM Business Architecture Committee
  • NBAC is responsible for
  • Advising and supporting the NIEM PMO on
    operational and business issues associated with
    NIEM development and implementation
  • Building NIEM Core components
  • Managing, harmonizing, and re-using NIEM
    components across domains and COIs
  • Development and implementation of processes to
    ensure that NIEM meets the diverse and evolving
    business needs of relevant domains and COIs and
  • Expanding the scope of NIEM to incorporate
    additional domains and COIs to reflect the
    evolution and expansion of NIEM.
  • Consists of Chair, Paul Embley, Contractor to
    DHS
  • Domain Representatives, domain governance

NIEM Communications and Outreach
  • NCOC is responsible for
  • Ensuring information regarding NIEM is
    consistently and effectively presented to key
    decision makers
  • Serving as a central point of contact for users,
    developers, and those interested in learning more
    about NIEM, and enabling their active
    participation
  • Regularly assessing the needs of current and
    potential stakeholders, identifying appropriate
    communication channels and mechanisms, and
    delivering audience-specific messaging tailored
    to the strategic directions established by the
    ESC and the NIEM PMO
  • Building mechanisms to enable a broad array of
    diverse users to have an active and persuasive
    voice in the direction and operations of the NIEM
    program
  • Advising the NIEM PMO on strategies for engaging
    new COIs

NIEM Technical Architecture Committee
  • NTAC is responsible for
  • Ensuring robust and effective development of the
    NIEM Core structure, technical architecture and
    processes to support NIEM and enable users to
    efficiently use and re-use NIEM components and
    NIEM-conformant IEPDs
  • Providing the technical support, tools and
    methodologies to implement the business-driven
    exchanges proposed by NBAC
  • Advising the NIEM PMO in the development and
    enhancement of tools that will facilitate broad
    based use and implementation of NIEM
  • Ensuring that all content in NIEM appropriately
    conforms to the NIEM architecture, NDR and best
    practices
  • Reconciling data security, privacy, and
    sensitivity issues through technical solutions
    that enable data sharing among key domains,
    stakeholders, and COIs

  • NPEP is responsible for
  • Facilitating the development of national priority
    exchanges, focused on the CTISS for the PM ISE
    Terrorist Watchlist and Suspicious Activity
    Reporting

    consideration by the ESC
