• Our God wills Life, not death.

1st Reading

• Life and Death are contrasted with one another.
  Our God is the God of the Living. Death is the
  work of Satan who brought man to turn against God.

2nd Reading

• This is a lesson in generous almsgiving. Our God
  Himself has been generous to us through Christ,
  and we must also do the same to others. And this
  generosity will give abundant life to others.

Gospel

• Jesus performed 2 miracles
• cured the woman afflicted with hemorrhages for 12
  years.
• Then He went to the house of Jairus, a synagogue
  official, to cure her seemingly dead daughter.

But what are we promoting?

• The Culture of Death !!!

• Suicides in Taiwan from Jan. to April 2006 2
  deaths daily.
• 5593 persons attempted suicide.
• Out 192 nations in the world, roughly only 20
  nations are not involved in any armed conflict.
• Drug use in Taiwan 3 - 400,000
