The number of miracles recorded in the Bible is
large, but certain things are apparent 1.
Considering the total time span of the Bible, the
number is low 2. They tend to cluster around
certain great events or persons 3. The maximum
saturation is found in the life of Jesus, at the
climax of divine revela- tion and human

But the question is What does the Gospel teach
about miracles today? Should we expect to see
miracles performed today?

1 Cor 127-10 - Now to each one the manifestation
of the Spirit is given for the common good. To
one there is given through the Spirit the message
of wisdom, to another the message of knowledgeto
another faithto another gifts of healingto
another miracu-lous powers, to another pro-phecy,
to another distinguis-hing between spirits, to
another speaking in different kinds of tongues,
and to still another the interpretation of
tongues.

Porque a éste es dada por el Espíritu palabra de

138-13 - Love never fails. But where there are
prophecies, they will cease where there are
tongues, they will be stilled where there is
knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in
part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection
comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a
child, I talked like a child, I thought like a
child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a
man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see
but a poor reflection as in a mirror then we
shall see face to face. Now I know in part then
I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And
now these three remain faith, hope and love. But
the greatest of these is love.
138-13 - El amor nunca deja de ser pero las
profecías se acabarán y cesarán las lenguas, y la
ciencia acabará. Porque en parte conocemos, y en
parte profetizamos mas cuando venga lo
perfecto, entonces lo que es en parte se acabará.
Cuando yo era niño, hablaba como niño, pensaba
como niño, juzgaba como niño mas cuando ya fui
hombre, dejé lo que era de niño. Ahora vemos por
espejo, oscuramente mas entonces veremos cara a
cara. Ahora conozco en parte pero entonces
conoceré como fui conocido. Y ahora permanecen
la fe, la esperanza y el amor, estos tres pero
el mayor de ellos es el amor.
When complete knowledge came, the miraculous
gifts would disappear.
Cuando vino el conoci-miento completo, los
regalos milagrosos desaparecerían.
Miracles were like childish things which we put
behind us when we grow up.

They were necessary until the revelation of the
gospel was complete were not needed after that.

When revelation was completed, the need for
miracles and spiritual gifts ended. But Jesus
promised to care for us and can do so without
the use of miracles. None of His promises
require a miracle but they do require us to
believe that even without miracles, Jesus can do
everything He promised.
Cuando la revelación fue cumplida, terminó la
necesi- dad de los milagros y dones espirituales.
Pero Jesús pro- metió cuidar para nosotros y El
puede hacerlo sin el uso de milagros.
Ningunos de Sus promesas requieren un milagro
pero ellos nos requieren creer que incluso sin
milagros, Jesús puede hacer todo que El prometió.
