21
Liturgy of the Word
22
First reading
  • A reading from the Acts of the Apostles
  • The followers of Jesus spent their time learning
from the apostles, and they were like family to
each other. They also broke bread and prayed
    together.
  • Everyone was amazed at the many miracles and
wonders that the apostles worked. All the Lords
followers often met together, and they shared
    everything they had.

23
  • They would sell their property and possessions
and give the money to whoever needed it. Day
after day they met together in the temple. They
broke bread together in different homes and
shared their food happily and freely, while
praising God. Everyone liked them, and each day
the Lord added to their group others who were
    being saved.
  • The Word of the Lord.
  • All Thanks be to God.

24
?Responsorial Psalm Do Not Be Afraid
  • Do not be afraid for I am with you.
  • I have called you by your name,
  • you are mine.
  • Do not be afraid for I am with you.
  • I have called you by your name,
  • you are mine.

25
  • When you walk through the waters, Ill be with
    you.
  • You will never sink beneath the waves. ?
  • Do not be afraid for I am with you.
  • I have called you by your name,
  • you are mine.
  • When the fire is burning all around you,
  • You will never be consumed by the flames. ?
  • Do not be afraid for I am with you.
  • I have called you by your name,
  • you are mine.

26
  • When the fear of loneliness is looming,
  • Then remember I am at your side. ?
  • Do not be afraid for I am with you.
  • I have called you by your name,
  • you are mine.
  • You are mine, O my child I am your father,
  • And I love you with a perfect love. ?
  • Do not be afraid for I am with you.
  • I have called you by your name,
  • you are mine.

27
Second reading

    Corinthians (1123-26 )
  • Saint Paul wrote this letter to tell us what
    happened at the last supper.
  • Brothers and sisters
  • I have already told you what the Lord Jesus did
on the night before he was betrayed. And it came
    from the Lord himself.

28
  • He took some bread in his hands. Then after he
had given thanks, he broke it and said, This is
my body, which is given up for you. Eat this and
    remember me.
  • After the meal, Jesus took a cup of wine in his
hands and said, This is my blood, and with it
God makes his new agreement with you. Drink this
and remember me. The Lord meant that when you
eat this bread and drink from this cup, you tell
about his death until he comes.
