Itinerary
  • 29th March Depart school at 01.00am. Coach to
    Liverpool airport. Services stop. Check in for
    flight at 5.00am.
  • Flight EZY7065 leaves at 7.15am. No meal on
    board therefore students should bring their own
    food or buy on the plane.
  • Arrive at Nice at 10.30am. Transfer to
    accommodation.
  • Time to settle in and unpack. Lunch to be
    bought.
  • Visit of the local area/beach
  • Evening meal at the Holiday Village.
  • Evening activity

Itinerary
  • 30th March Breakfast. Morning visit to the
    hill-top village of Eze. Visit to local
    traditional sweet factory in Nice. Language
    tuition for 2 hours in Nice. Evening meal at the
    hotel. Evening activity

  • 31st March Breakfast. Visit to Cannes. Boat
    trip around the Lerin Islands. Language tuition
    for 2 hours in Nice. Evening meal at hotel.
    Evening activity.

Itinerary
  • 1st April Breakfast. Leave hotel and collect
    pack-lunch. Last meal provided. Visit to Nice old
    town and promenade.
  • Coach transfer to airport for return flight.
  • Check-in at 16.00. Arrive at Liverpool at 19.10.
    Arrival at Benton Park at approximately 22.30.
    Pupils will call to advise if we plan to arrive
    earlier or later.

Language Lessons
  • Students will have two sessions of two hours.
  • They will cover topics specific to the GCSE and A
    Level syllabus.

Accommodation
  • Hotel Le Kangourou, Fréjus Full board
  • Rooms will be allocated on arrival.
  • The hotel has an enforced quiet time for the
    comfort of their guests, which stipulates no
    noise after 10.30 p.m. We will expect pupils to
    observe and respect this rule and we will be
    checking on this every night.

Code of conduct
  • We expect pupils to behave in a manner befitting
    a Benton Park School representative. This
    includes
  • Respect of property belongings.
  • Respect for staff.
  • Respect for fellow students.
  • Respect for all people encountered while on the
    trip.
  • Respect for other cultural expectations and laws.
  • Respect for school rules.

Alcohol Smoking
  • It is Benton Park School policy that while
    pupils and staff are on a school trip, normal
    school rules apply. Therefore, no smoking or
    alcohol consumption will be tolerated. Students
    will not be permitted to purchase any of these
    items in France.

Breach of the code of conduct
  • If any pupil is found to breach any part of
    the code of conduct, one or more of the following
    sanctions will be enforced
  • Chaperoning by one or more members of staff
  • Curfew and omission from evening activities
  • Banned from all future school trips and
    activities
  • Isolation on return to school or, in extreme
    cases, exclusion

Medical Information and Passports
  • All students are included on a collective
    passport, which will be kept by myself.
  • However, they are individually responsible for an
    identity card which they must keep with them at
    all times.
  • They must also carry their own EHIC card (health
    insurance)

What to pack
  • A mixture of clothing for both warm and cold
    conditions. Check the weather forecast!
  • Comfortable walking shoes.
  • Euros (Travellers cheques are difficult to cash)
  • Toiletries/Medication
  • Towel
  • Travel sickness medication (if required)
  • Dictionary/Phrase book
  • Notebook and pencil case for language lessons
  • European adaptor for electrical items.

What NOT to pack
  • Knives
  • Alcohol
  • Solvents
  • Tobacco products
  • Drugs

Spending money
  • For the majority of the trip, food is included.
    However, students will need money for service
    stops/on the plane etc.
  • In addition to this, there will be opportunities
    for shopping and buying souvenirs.
  • Students! Please bear in mind that the South of
    France can be expensive, so spend your money
    wisely.
  • Students will be responsible for looking after
    their own money.

What to do in an emergency
  • On both the coach and the plane students will be
    briefed on Emergency Procedures.
  • Safety procedure in the event of a fire will be
    given in the hotel.
  • When in a public place, groups will be monitored
    by teaching staff at regular intervals and during
    free time pupils will be in groups of at least 2
    at all times ideally in threes.
  • Students will be issued with an Emergency card.
  • For parents. In case of an emergency you will be
    contacted by phone using the number(s) you have
    provided.

..and finally
  • You may have coursework deadlines on or around
    the date of the trip. The trip cannot be used as
    an excuse. You must get organised!
  • NST the company organising the visit will be
    giving each of our students a phone card with 5
    minutes call time so that they can contact home
    using the pay phone at the hotel.
