- The first membership meeting was held at Asian
King Buffet Restaurant on 25 March 2004 - The first technical seminar was held at Alpha
Data Corporation on 17 June 2004 where Dr.
Chandra Curtis gave a talk on Memory
Exploitation in Reconfigurable Computing
Systems, which was a part of the work that she
completed in fulfillment of her doctoral
dissertation requirements - The second technical seminar was held at the
University of Floridas Graduate Engineering
Research Center on 29 July 2004 where Dr.
Christopher Doss presented a paper entitled
FPGA-Based Implementation of a Robust IEEE-754
Exponential Unit which had been published in the
proceedings of the IEEE Computer
Society-sponsored 2004 Field-Programmable Custom
Computing Machines (FCCM) Conference

- 14 Petitioning members 12 of which were
registered members of the IEEE Computer Society
and 3 of which were registered members of the
IEEE Communications Society - Second chapter to be formed under the Northwest
Florida Section of IEEE - First joint societies chapter to be formed under
the Northwest Florida Section of IEEE - Currently the only active chapter under the
Northwest Florida Section of IEEE
