Ubiquitous Computing for Everyday Aesthetic
Practices Ubiquitous Computing (M. Weiser) away
from desktop settings, available at hand in the
real world where needed, where the action is
From the pre-designed interaction spaces of
digital technologies to the raw everyday physical
world the everyday as resource for creation and
personal expression I am interested in how we can
use this new type of technology to enable new
types of aesthetic practices in peoples everyday
life

Picture This! - Context Photography Maria
Håkansson, Sara Ljungblad, Lalya Gaye, Mattias
Rost (FAL, Viktoria)Panajotis Mihalatos (Art
Technology, IT-University in Göteborg) Digital
camera capturing the invisible context of a scene
with sensors (e.g. noise level) and translating
it visually into the resulting still picture, as
you are taking it. Technology Sensor input
(e.g. from a mic) translated in real time it
visual effects on the resulting still picture.
Currently implemented on camera phones, using
built-in sensors and Gapidraw CG platform

Picture This! - Context Photography Maria
Håkansson, Sara Ljungblad, Lalya Gaye, Mattias
Rost (FAL, Viktoria)Panajotis Mihalatos (Art
Technology, IT-University in Göteborg) Adding a
new dimension to digital photography by providing
more parameters to play with than the ones
characteristic to analogue photography Parameters
are available resources originating from the
photographers immediate surroundings or from
herself e.g. loud noise or... scream!

Picture This! - BashoCam Lalya Gaye (FAL,
Viktoria)Svante Hermansson (Art Technology,
IT-University in Göteborg) People connected
within a virtual social network but in different
locations, developing a narrative with rhythmical
sequences of photographs that juxtapose their
realities. Different narratives for different
paths through network. Sharing of personal
moments that combine the evocative qualities of
photography with the collaborative aspect of
networked performances

Mobile Music Music technology meets mobile
computing. Music devices used anywhere, with
awareness of place, in distributed / ad hoc
networks From digital music making and
consumption attached to one location, to
dynamical following and taking advantage of the
users displacements and location

(8Tunnel2), Margot Jacobs (ReForm, Interactive
Institute) Mobile music making with the city as
interface. Creating a real-time personal
soundscape of electronic music by walking through
and interacting with urban environments
